Stainless steel without borders
30 years of stainless steel purchasing experience in Europe and Asia.
I help companies identify suitable sources of supply, compare offers, negotiate terms and develop long-term relationships with producers, mills, service centres and distributors.
Purchasing in Europe and Asia
Good sourcing does not automatically mean buying from the most distant market. Depending on the product, volume, lead time, market conditions and risk, the right option may be a European mill or service centre, or an Asian producer. The company’s actual needs come first; the market and supplier follow.
Europe
- alternative sources of supply,
- contact with mills and producers,
- cooperation with service centres and distributors,
- comparison of prices, availability and lead times,
- negotiations and supplier development.
Asia and markets outside the EU
- supplier sourcing and initial assessment,
- payment terms and Incoterms,
- transport and commercial documents,
- origin, duties and quotas,
- trade defence measures,
- supplier and transaction risk.
How I can help
Supplier sourcing
I identify producers that match the requirements of a specific project or a long-term purchasing strategy. The aim is a focused shortlist of suppliers worth approaching.
RFQs and offer comparison
I compare specifications, quality requirements, payment terms, production lead times, delivery conditions, minimum quantities, documentation and commercial risk.
Commercial negotiations
I support negotiations on price, payment, lead time, claims and supplier flexibility, drawing on experience on both the buying and selling side.
Import support
I help organise the commercial side of imports and identify factors that affect total landed cost. Legal, customs, tax and certification matters requiring specialist advice should be handled by the appropriate professionals.
Supply diversification
I help reduce dependence on a single source and compare European purchasing with imports.
Supplier relationship development
Sourcing does not have to end with the first shipment. The goal may be stable supply, better commercial terms and more predictable purchasing.
A low purchase price does not guarantee a low landed cost.
Producer → quality → payment → transport → regulation → risk → total cost.
How we can work together
- Define the requirement. Product, grade, dimensions, volumes, current purchasing model and the problem to solve.
- Assess the market. Available sourcing routes, potential producers and key risks.
- Select potential partners. Suppliers that fit the company’s real needs.
- Negotiate. Compare terms and conduct commercial discussions.
- Support the purchase. Assist during the next stages of supplier cooperation.
- Develop the relationship. A successful order may become a regular supply arrangement.
30 years in the stainless steel market
My experience covers the full commercial chain: mills and producers, service and distribution centres, importers, distributors and industrial customers. I have worked in purchasing, sales, imports, exports, negotiations and market development.
I have worked with partners in Türkiye, India, Vietnam, China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, while remaining closely involved in the European stainless steel market. Around ten years of my professional experience also includes exports.
